Client favorites and proofing

Clients can choose favorite photographs and add notes without creating a ShootCal account. Saved selections are private to the verified client and the studio, so different people viewing the same gallery can keep their own lists.

Choose and save photos

1. Tap the heart on any photograph. You can filter the gallery to your selected images and open Your selections to add per-photo notes.
2. Choose Save favorites, or enter your email in Your selections and choose Email my private link. Before verification, Save for later keeps the draft only on this device. Your current picks and notes stay here while you verify.
3. Open the email link and choose Open my private favorites. Enter the gallery password if requested. The link expires after 15 minutes and can be used once; keep it private.
4. If this device has a local draft, choose whether to keep those picks, use your saved list, or combine both. Opening the link does not save, combine or send your selections automatically.
5. Review the photographs and notes. Save for later saves the list without sending it to the studio. To share the finished selection, add an optional overall message and choose Send to your studio.

Picks made before verification are stored in this browser. Use Save for later after verifying your email to keep the selected photos and their per-photo notes available on another device. An unsent overall message stays on the current device until you send it. A completed submission remains visible to the photographer even if the gallery is later republished.

Continue on another device

Open the same gallery and request a private link using the email associated with your saved selections. After verification, you can resume that list. Having the gallery link or knowing another client's email does not open their saved favorites or notes. Gallery passwords and access restrictions still apply.

To switch identities on a shared device, open Your selections and choose Use another email. Verify the new email before opening its saved list.

Older browser-only notes and recovery drafts that cannot be tied to a verified client are preserved but hidden for privacy. Verify your email to recover notes already saved to the server; some older unsaved notes cannot be matched to an owner.

Review favorites in ShootCal

In ShootCal, choose Galleries at the top, then Favorites, to see every gallery's selections, or open a gallery and choose Favorites. Each set shows the client, selected photographs, per-photo notes, and overall message. Deliveries also shows each gallery's favorites, orders, and downloads.

Return to Lightroom

Use Copy Lightroom list to copy the selected filenames, then paste them into Lightroom’s Library filter. Republishing does not erase favorites because a selection is tied to the photograph record rather than its current rendered preview.
