Gallery Sharing, Photo & Video Downloads
Use Send & Share when a gallery is ready. You can copy the gallery link and download PIN, or send a branded delivery email directly from Galleries.
Prepare client access
- Confirm the gallery visibility and, on paid plans, set a viewing password if needed.
- For photographs, choose original JPEG downloads or no downloads. Video originals follow the gallery’s download access and PIN rules.
- Set a download PIN if only the client should be able to download the complete set.
- Check the linked client name and email.
Compose the delivery email
Choose a built-in or saved template, edit the subject and message, and insert fields for the client name, gallery title, gallery link, and download PIN. A print-credit template is available only when the gallery has a usable credit. If you have adjusted the subject or message and want to reuse it later, you can save it as a new template right from the share page; editing or deleting saved templates, and choosing which one is the default (a checkbox on the template), happens in Settings → Email templates. Choose Preview email to see the exact email your client will receive; from the preview dialog you can send yourself a test or send it straight to the client.
How downloads work
Clients can download one photograph or request a ZIP of the photo gallery. Downloads are either On, original JPEG files or Off, no downloads; there is no reduced-size download option. If you want clients to receive smaller files, export them smaller in the first place using Lightroom's Image Sizing panel, because ShootCal stores and delivers whatever you upload. Videos download individually at their stored original resolution, including 4K originals, while gallery playback adapts up to 1080p.
On Send & Share, check Also send an original-photo ZIP download link to include a whole-gallery ZIP with the delivery email; the download link follows in a separate email once the archive is built. Clients who request a ZIP from the gallery see a short preparing page while ShootCal zips the originals, and the link arrives by email when the archive is ready. Whole-gallery photo ZIP links are temporary and normally remain usable for seven days. After that the client can request a fresh one, as long as the gallery still has a ZIP delivery left on your plan.
Whole-gallery ZIP downloads and your plan
Preparing a whole-gallery ZIP is metered, and it is the one download limit worth knowing before you send a gallery.
- Free: one prepared ZIP for each gallery.
- Plus: three for each gallery.
- Pro: unlimited.
The count is per gallery, not per month, so every new gallery starts with a fresh allowance. What is metered is preparing a new archive. While an archive is still live, sending it to another person or a second request from the same client reuses it and costs nothing more. Once the seven days pass, a new request builds a new archive and does use another one.
Individual photo downloads are never limited. If a gallery reaches its ZIP limit the client can still save photographs one at a time, and on the Send & Share page the ZIP option is disabled and reads Full-gallery ZIP limit reached for this gallery. Upgrading raises the limit for galleries you have already sent.
Custom domains
When a Plus or Pro client-gallery domain is active, new gallery, email, and download links use that domain. Previously issued galleries.shootcal.com links continue to work. See Setting up a custom domain.
