September 2026
Apps
1.8.13 for Mac, iPhone, and iPad (September 2) Mac iOS
- Create a gallery for a session straight from the session's own screen.
- Booking requests that are past their date are listed apart from pending ones.
- Fixed a crash when deleting a session type, and a case where adding one could leave you with a duplicate.
- Signing in with Google no longer hangs if the app moves to the background partway through.
- The agenda opens on today after a cold launch, and a day with no sessions of its own now names the multi-day session still covering it.
- A location containing an ampersand opens the right place in Maps, and repeated location suggestions are gone.
Android 1.3.3 (September 2) Android
- Tides now come from ShootCal's own station catalog, and the offline banner refreshes itself.
- The agenda keeps today anchored on a cold start, and an empty day names the multi-day event that still covers it.
- New typed sessions default to "deposit not received." Month cells announce the real event count to screen readers.
- Time pickers honor the device's 12-hour or 24-hour clock setting.
- The booking link shows your public ShootCal address.
Web Web
- September 4: Settings keeps the Clients & booking card visible, disabled, when Google is not connected, with a note on what connecting unlocks.
- September 4: Booking accept page says whether the client's confirmation email was sent, was off for the type, or failed.
- September 4: Sending a calendar invite that was already sent no longer emails the client again.
- September 4: Session Types: the walkthrough moves focus to each new step and announces it; the Add buttons stay visible (disabled) while the list loads.
- September 4: Booking page: turning it on requires a session type the page will actually list, with a clear note when every type is hidden from booking; a retry after a partial activation publishes from the calendar shown.
- September 4: Settings: the studio logo uploader accepts the same 600 KB the server does.
- September 4: Help and marketing pages now describe the session-type-first booking page, and the first-session-type walkthrough has consistent step names.
- September 4: Sending a calendar invite is guarded while it is in flight, so a double click cannot email the client twice.
- September 4: If session types fail to load, the New Event form now shows the type selector disabled with a reload hint instead of hiding it.
- September 4: Quick Add's Insert keeps the session type and any fields you already filled, and merges notes instead of replacing them.
- September 4: A fixed-start session type that would run past midnight no longer picks a wrapped end time; adjust the end before creating.
- September 4: Card payments: a payment attempt that never reached Stripe no longer blocks later card payments, the client's payment page, or refunds on that invoice.
- September 4: A session that spans several days can be edited, deleted, or invited from any day it covers, not only its first day. The agenda lists it once, on the day it starts, and notes it as continuing on later days.
- September 4: Contract line items now use the same editor as invoice line items, so the two match.
- September 3: Booking setup is now one session-type-first flow, with a walkthrough for your first session type and photography examples for each timing option. You can preview your availability calendar before publishing it.
- September 2: Multi-day events show on every day they cover in the month grid.
- September 2: Send a calendar invite from the event drawer to a client who has not been invited yet.
- September 2: Crop your studio logo right in Settings.
- September 2: The web app works before Google is connected: an empty calendar with a clear notice, and invoices stay usable. Granular Google permission choices are respected.
- September 2: Signed up with the wrong email? There is now a recovery path. Password reset feedback is honest about rate limits.
- September 2: The app follows your Google account language.
Galleries and Websites
- September 4: Website builder: previewing or restoring a revision that used a since-deleted image works again, and deleting an image a saved layout still uses says whether the draft or the published site holds it. Galleries Websites
- September 4: Website settings: a failed Instagram connect hands the button back instead of staying on Opening Meta. Galleries Websites
- September 4: Gallery dashboard labels only truly link-only galleries as Link only, so older public galleries can be moved to link-only in one choice. Galleries Websites
- September 4: Send & Share refuses a fresh download link for an expired gallery with a reason. Galleries Websites
- September 2 to 3: New Aperture slider theme for client websites, direct slider image uploads, and refined themes and image editing. Websites
- September 1: An Instagram feed block for websites is in pilot. Websites
- September 3: Simpler access choices on the gallery dashboard. Galleries
August 2026
Apps
1.8.12 (August 11) Mac iOS
- Send a contract or an invoice straight from a client, or from a saved session. ShootCal Web opens with everything already filled in.
- Your client's contracts and their status appear right on the client record.
- Mac: the event editor has a single Save button, and saving takes you to the session you just saved. Typing in the editor is dramatically faster. The Clients & Booking window now stands off the calendar.
- The accent color has been warmed and softened.
1.8.11 (August 9) Mac iOS
- The client list could stop loading with a Google Contacts error. It loads correctly now.
- iPhone: ShootCal could show you as signed out after being open a while. It now reconnects on its own.
- A brief network or server problem no longer signs you out of Google.
1.8.10 (August 5) iOS
- Fixed the app appearing signed out when returning from the background until it was force-quit.
- Clearer Save and Send Invoice actions in the event editor, and client emails are validated before saving to Google Calendar.
1.8.8 and 1.8.9 (August 3) Mac iOS
- Client email addresses are validated before an event goes to Google Calendar.
- Deposit tracking is streamlined around ShootCal invoices.
- Mac: refined event editor with clearer Save and Send Invoice actions and a more polished adaptive color palette.
Android 1.3.2 (August 8) Android
- Editing a shoot from another timezone no longer moves it. Editing a web-created event no longer fails on the timezone.
- Month-grid dots span every day a booking covers.
- Deleting a client's only booking offers to remove the client too. Clients refresh after a booking is saved.
- Session types sync from the web (August 1).
Web Web
- August 31: The browser tab and bookmarks name the section you are in.
- August 28: Edit tasks on the web. New Event suggests time slots that avoid conflicts. Copy a client's name from the calendar. Quick Add and the Assistant launcher share one header.
- August 27: Search booking requests by name, email, or phone. Creating an event lands you on it, and the Location field suggests real places. One name now identifies your account across every ShootCal product.
- August 26: Sign-up asks for the name your clients will see, and Settings says exactly what changing your ShootCal URL affects.
- August 24: Claim your ShootCal URL in Settings. One name sets your booking, gallery, and website addresses. Client emails are now branded with your logo and colors, contracts can be confirmed with one click from the email, and the record-payment dialog can email the client a receipt.
- August 23: The booking page leads with your services, shows a per-type availability date grid, and has a flexible date-range picker. The website embed is a one-line script that sizes itself, with a transparent backdrop so the card floats on your site. Manually scheduled paid sessions now count toward the daily cap. The session-type editor is simpler.
- August 22: Booking requests get a "Not replied · Past date" group.
- August 20: Reports say what each total is for and split card fees out. The sales tax worksheet lets you pick cash or invoice-date basis, remembers the choice, and jumps to a filing month.
- August 19: The ShootCal Assistant answers questions inside the app, grounded in the help docs. Contracts sort by most recently signed and show the signed date.
- August 18: Settings gains a second logo slot for dark backgrounds, shared with Galleries. Invoices support quantities, contracts get itemized pricing, and the two share one line-item library. Contract review and pricing redesigned.
- August 17: Both you and the client are notified when a card payment lands.
- August 14: Create a product or service inline while editing an invoice. Save the send-dialog message as your default invoice email. Client pickers match on email as well as name.
- August 13: Drag-to-reschedule on the calendar is now authoritative, so a confirmed move can never show on the old day.
- August 7 to 11: The web app was rebuilt on React and Material UI: calendar, clients, booking requests, session types, invoices, contracts, questionnaires, expenses, reports, and settings. Faster, more consistent, and with better touch targets. Rich-text editors were replaced.
- August 7: The Help Center moved to shootcal.com/docs, searchable and edited in the open.
- August 6: Invoicing is out of beta. Drag to reorder the payment methods clients see. The Wave and QuickBooks deposit sync was retired in favor of built-in invoicing.
- August 5: Clients can pay a custom card amount on a hosted invoice.
- August 2: Invoice checkout field editor, review-first sending with previews, and a checkout preview in settings. Issued invoices can be edited and payments corrected. Signed contracts get a receipt action. Browser alerts replaced by app dialogs. Optional invoice backups to Google Drive.
- August 1: Unified navigation and account switching across ShootCal products.
Galleries and Websites
- August 31: Send & Share can email a fresh download link, and the ZIP-ready email is simpler. Galleries
- August 30: Website builder round: a richer starter site, per-section layout options, and an Instagram connect pilot. Websites
- August 29: Seven-day billing grace for gallery custom domains. Galleries
- August 28: Copy your Galleries address from the dashboard. Open Galleries help from the shared header. Galleries
- August 26: Order review keeps the crops you save, lets you send a note to the lab with one order, and shows what the lab billed against the quote. Nothing goes to the lab on a timer until you approve it. Website images take a description that becomes alt text, and the hero starts loading with the page. Client gallery links in the app were 404s and are fixed. Galleries Websites
- August 24: "Hold 7 more days" on order review. The order review email's profit estimate nets out card processing. Galleries
- August 22 to 23: Website galleries: a studio-owned set of galleries the builder draws from. The availability calendar places itself on your website. Contact block with icon links and a "Check availability" prompt. About block photo shapes with a focus point. The print store cart lands on the cart after Add, and Checkout is its own page. Print purchase terms at /print-terms. The Assistant is available in Galleries and the website builder. Bounced gallery emails notify the studio. Choose which logo sits over the collections header. Your www domain is entered on the Website screen. Galleries Websites
- August 20: The website builder opens to every studio as a free beta. Drag the hero focus point. One-click unsubscribe for announcements. Websites
- August 17 to 19: Websites move to sites.shootcal.com with real page paths and a contact form. One-click looks, a Marquee theme, page-link cards, per-page search titles, and an About photo upload. Lightroom order is split from custom order, and new galleries default to capture-date order. The gallery picker becomes search plus recent. Galleries Websites
- August 16: Photo grid reorder rebuilt: instant lift, works on huge galleries, larger 240px cells. Website revision history. A rich-text Prose section for websites. Galleries Websites

- August 5: A one-time viewing tip above the photo grid. Phone- and tablet-aware download guidance, with an optional "Save to my Dropbox." Galleries
- August 2 to 3: Video galleries: upload video alongside photos, 4K originals for download, playback on branded domains, and mixed media views. Video delivery on every paid plan.
